after a long thought out process, i decided to go with a superchips tuner. i have been going back and forth between a handheld tuner and custom chip for months now....no need to start another thread on which is better:) seems there are pros and cons on both and between all the different brands. but i really like the ability to instantly change my settings and read codes. i know i might not get the max performance gains that a custom chip would give but i am willing to make that sacrafice for the ease of use and versatility. $361 delivered was the best deal i could find. i have some friends that have used this tuner with good results and they said just the ability to change shift points and adjust for different tires sizes was worth it... so if i get some hp gains then that is jsut a plus for me. now i will just need some ideas on what settings ya'll are having good results with! i'll let you know how it works in a few days.....thanks!

I can get the Hypertec for $268, but I am going to with the PCM for Less tune.

 

By the way, how do like the 40 series. I have an appointment at local exhaust shop to get a 40 series put on with dual outlets next Monday.

i think it sounds really good.....no too loud, but loud enough. i have mine run with 3' tips straight out the back. if i did it again, i would get at least 3.5-4' tips. my buddy has the larger diameter tips and i think it's a little deeper sounding than mine. still sounds BA though. you'll catch yourself riding with the windows down and no radio the first few days just to hear that sweet sound!

 

on a side note...i see you got new wheels and they look nice! i am planning to get new wheels this fall when my tires are ready to be replaced. i am thinking of getting 16x8 and running 305/70. any reason you stuck with the 265/16 over a 285/75 or 305/70?
