Horn Trouble

I mistakingly hit my panic button last night and this weird sound starting coming out of the truck. Kinda sounded like a screwed up video game. I then figured out it was the horn and it musta been on it's way out. I checked the fuse and relay they were fine. I found it on the passenger side and just stopped to get a new one at Autozone. When I was replacing it and testing for polarity, another horn honked! I found there was one on the driver's side too that was not working. So two horns, and neither were working! I replaced the one with a horn similar to this: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product...catalogId-10101

I got the low tone, and think I'm gonna get the high tone for the other side. When I took the horn off it had a ton of water in it. I managed to get some out and it was very rusty. I guess running through all them puddles got to it! :)

Anybody else do any work on their horns? And what sounds best?

Freyguy,

I have the same Truck as you..I got rid of the stock crappy horns that came with the truck and replaced them with a set of Hadley Air Horns. What an improvment. I sugguest, if, your looking for Louder Horns, go with Air Horns..nothing beats them.

I would have posted pictures here of the installation of the Air Horns, but, having trouble posting here...if, you want to see my set-up I can E-Mail pictures to you, if your interested. :jester:
