Anybody here have one? I rode my friends 03 Grizzly and I was very pleased with how it handled and rode. Had ample power too. I just wanted to see if anybody had some input on it.

I ride with a couple of guys that have them. They sure love them.

There are also a couple of guys that ride the big 'ol Prarie 650s...Man, those things are bada$$. HUGE, and can still wheelie for a mile.

atvconnection.com has some pretty good forums for atvs...You just have to wade through the kids to get at the knowledgable folks. Although, that's usually only a problem in the sport quad section. The ute sections are usually pretty adult.

You may also want to add the Kawi. 750 Brute Force to your list as well. Awesome from what I'm hearing about it. Power and even more power to spare! The Grizz. doesn't stand a chance... Pending on your riding style, as Wing mentioned, you may want to also check out the 700 Prairie. It's a straight axle rear so it handles better and has a more sporty feel to it than the IRS quads. IMO Kawi leads the pack for Utes right now.

Polaris just came out with an 800 EFI Sportsman as well as a "Miliatary Model" now for sale to the general public. If I was getting a new bike I would look at these...

Between my friends and I, we basically have every major brand covered. You really can't go wrong with any of them. They're all pretty much great machines.

My buddy just bought a used grizzly. The previous owner did every available mod. you can think of to the thing, including a big bore kit. That thing is crazy to watch it wheelie with 28" vampire tires.

I rode the Kawi Prarie and I just liked the Grizzly better. But when it comes to watercraft. Its a Kawi for me hands down! What about Yamahas financing. Is it any good? I heard it sucked!

Its really no better or worse than any of the others. Just watch out for the hidden interest rates and make sure if you go with low down and low interest that you pay it off on time or early as their high interest rates kick in and the payments go sky high. :jester:

A. Sierra makes a good point. Read the fine print real well. I've heard horror stories where a friend was late on an unrelated bill. This effected the interest rate on his ATV payment.

Most finance plans from these companies are nothing more then applying for a credit card.

Yea I did a little reading today at a Yami dealer. Not gonna do it. Too much crap about their financing that I dont like. Ill go through my credit union. Better idea in the long run.

Ya Credit union for sure. They are almost impossible to beat on intrest rates. I bought my prarie 650 through the credit union and the rates were about 1 1/2% lower than the banks. I bought my motorcycles through the factory program which were 0 down 0 % but made sure I paid it off early because like hecktorx said when it comes due its like a credit card a high interest credit card. Hope you enjoy the grizz :jester: I rode one when shopping for a atv. I liked it but liked the prarie's power and handling better(personal prefference) :)

I bought mine through Suzuki financing at a 6.9% interest rate....But I paid it off in about 8 months....So now it's 0% :jester:

The Polaris one's were pretty high too, so on both our Sportsman and Ranger we paid it up front.

We also got the extended warranty on them which you should check out no matter what brand you get. On the Sportsman it already paid for 1/2 of itself when the starter went out.

How do you like the Ranger? I've been eyeing one of those up for a while now. About what's the top speed on it? What's it like to drive it? When you bought the Ranger, did you compare it to the Yami Rhino before you bought? I've rode a few sportsmen before and I really liked them. How does it's performance compare to the sportmen?

Sorry for so many questions.

    • This is a really late reply but I just found this thread. They won't sell the hinges. I've gone 7 rounds with them. Their solution is to buy a new cover. I'm about to buy a new cover and it won't be a Bakflip. It also won't be from realtruck.com.
    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
