storing tires?

How would one go about storing tires? Drop the psi? Stack them up rim facing up?

It can't hurt to air them down but it probably doesn't matter what position they're stored. Most tire shops just have them up on a shelf upright. It probably depends on how long they're going to be stored. If for a long time, it probably wouldn't hurt to cover them with a tarp or plastic to keep the dirt and crap off of them.
