Just wanted to tell you all that I ordered Hill's level kit yesterday. When I get it installed I will take some pics when I get a chance.

Good luck w/ the instal, I've heard that it's not all that hard.  Do you plan on doing it yourself?  If so, where did you get your t-bar unloading tool and how much did it cost?  After you get it done be sure to get a front end alignment.

Ya know, I bought those keyways back in June but never installed them.  I'll let em go for 50 bucks plus shipping if anyone wants em.  I never installed them on my 01 Z71 and they obviously won't work on my HD.

They are ugly, rough and crude looking sob's for 150 bucks but I guess they're doing what they were designed to do for the one's who have em installed.  Plus, why should they look all shiny and new, ya never see em anyway! :D

I would suggest not going more than 2 inches of lift over the stock height.  You could get  more but your A arm droop or the downward travel of your suspension will be very limited.

At 2 inches my truck still rides pretty good, although it is definitley more stiff than before.

But that in conjunction with my 3 inch body lift looks awesome.

I think most of you have seen my truck, but if anyone wants me to post let  me know.

And yes you can get away with a 2 jaw puller.

Sure they are crude looking pieces, but so are the original ones.  And as mentioned you don't see them anyway.

#### I wish I would have known about the ones for $50.00!

Oh well.  Really $150 is pretty cheap.

Good luck.

I don't know why people order these things except for price. IMO they are dangerous from a suspension standpoint. Your steering linkage is going to be at such a steep angle I doubt the tie-rod ends will last long. Also your CV halfshafts are going to be at a very bad angle which will lead to premature failure. I know you guys want a cheap lift, but at what cost?

Redsierra, if you have any pictures of your front suspension showing the steering linkage and cv angles please post them. If not I will post some tomorrow from Mark2000Z71.

No I don't have any pictures.

I have looked at everthing and all looks fine.  In fact, my dealership did the alignment and has no problem with the new hieght.  Keep in mind that although Hill says that the kit is good for up to 3 inches, I only adjusted mine to acheive 2 inches.

I intentionally questioned the dealership regarding your comments.

They said "you 've only lifted it by 2 inches not 6!  Don't worry about it."

So, I am not worried.  Plus I have a 120,000 km warranty with 70,000 remaining.

Hi all.  I'm new to the forum.  Just wanted to know how much everyone paid to have the leveling kit on.  I've got the kit, but not the tools to do it myself.  There is a local 4x4 shop that said they'd do it for $400.   That seems steep to me.  Well if anyone knows where to go in the middle Ga area then I'd appreciate.  Great site and lots of great insite.  I'll post pictures of my 2002 Z71 as soon as I can figure this forum out.

Welcome to the forum.  400 is way too much to do that.  I think the only toos you'll need are is a jack, socket, and T-Bar unloading tool (someone should be able to tell you how to make one)  The install seems simple, just jack up the front, unload the bars, take out the old keys, put in the new ones, and adjust for desired lift.  I would thnk that it will you around an hour, maybe two.  After you get it done you'll need to get a front end alignment, which is about 50-80 dollars.

I finally got the kit installed. Looks really good. The ride is a little firmer, but found out that my shocks are worn out so I need to replace them as well. They suggested to me that I should get new shocks anyways because they are almost maxed out. So if any of you plan on getting a level kit I would recommend getting new shocks as well. I think that I will get Rancho's RS 9000. Do any of you have any other suggestions? If I get the RS 9000 should I get the inside controller or not? I will try to take some pics as soon as I can but I don't have a digital camera so it might take a while so bare with me. How do you guys get a picture when ever you post a message? I tried to set it up but it did not work.

shocks are worn out already?  How many miles did you have on them?  I put about 21K on my stock Z71 shocks and they were still in good shape
