Anyone consider doing an MPI conversion on a TBI motor. I've heard about this before, but I'm tryin' to decide weather or not this is a worthy conversion on a pickup with 175k miles.

 

I've considered doin' either this or lookin' to replace my Throttle Body with something more effieicient and with less mileage. Maybe I just need a good cleaning? Doesn't seem to be running bad, but I figure with all the mileage there has to be some buildup. Just tryin' to think of all the preventative maintinence that I can.

The Multiport conversion kits do have some advantages:

Better fuel mileage,

more power,

less emissions.

 

The price on those kits is ridiculous though. I think they are upwards of $5K. I can put in a 96-00 Vortec 5.7L for less than that.
