2500LD Options??

I am looking into a 2500LD, and have a couple questions...

 

-is the 6.0 the standard motor for a 4x4?

-are all of them a 4l80e trans?

-Are the tierod ends better than the 1500?

 

I've looked at a couple, and I LOVE the manual transfer case option. Thanks for the info.

I've got one and the 6.0 is standard as well as the 4l80e...as for the tie rod ends being better than the 1500, I don't know. I know I love mine. I wanted the 6.0 for the power and wanted to have Autotrac...couldn't get that combo on the HD or the 1500 Crew.

I can't tell you that one is "better" or "worse", but they DO have different part numbers.

 

2500 outer tie rod end: 12471376

1500 RWD Outer: 26076544

1500 4wd Outer: 12471381

The tierod ends are a concern because of the weak 1500 ends. They are a joke for a truck. I prefer the manual transfer case, never trust a button for your 4wd. Thanks for the help guys.
