We received our first shipment of the VaraRam King Cobra inductions today! This is the non-ram air that is designed to be mated up to the stock tube that runs to the throttlebody. The full ram air kits were supposed to be shipping to us today but VaraRam is still waiting for a few parts to finish production. I'll be installing this on my Silverado HD later today and will report any mileage and seat of the pants gains towards the end of next week.

VaraRam guarantees that you will see at least aNeon1/2-to1 full second drop off of your 0-60 MPH times over factory stock no matter which GM truck or SUV you have or they will buy the system back. But they go even further, They guarantee that you will gain at least a full ½ second “OVER ANY OTHER” aftermarket air induction system (0-60) or they will buy the unit back!

VR5B King Cobra induction $239.99

Orders placed over the weekend will be shipping on Monday!

Tom, this looks great... But.. Nobody has addressed the stock intake tube going to the Throttle Body...that thing looks like a huge flow restriction...

Will replacing this give any further performance enhancement??

Also I ported my Throttle Body on my C5 and like the performance it gave me along with the Vararam... I want to do the same to my tb on my 2001 Tahoe.. Will this help in addition to the King Cobra.

I had to do some searching to find a stock 8.1 intake tube. To many tubes in "the pile" and none of them were marked. I considered just using the Volant tube but the system's not designed to be used with that even though it should bolt up to it. VaraRam designed this system to use the stock tube to maintain air velocity as it enters the throttlebody so I made sure I did the swap. A throttlebody upgrade is usually good for about 8-10hp.

Thanks, but I am still a little confused...

What about the people who already swaped their Tube to a smooth bore?? Will it hurt them? Or.... Just not give them any additional gain?

I do plan to port my TB however...

The best results will be seen with the stock tube. I'll see what the difference might be if this is used with an aftermarket tube.

Thanks Tom, I'd like to know.. I am sure Patrick will take your call to discuss that much faster than us.. Although he has been great in the past.. I know he is far too busy these days..
