replace tranny on 89 suburban

Hey guys. This might be somewhat of a Noob-ish question, but my father's 89 4wd 3/4 ton suburban's tranny just gave out. We are looking at buying a remanufactured one to get a few more years out of this baby. I have 2 questions.

1. Any recommendations on where to purchase a reman T400?

2. Any decent write-ups on swapping in the new one. I am assuming it is pretty straight forward, but haven'nt done one on a GM before, so I am looking to prevent any gotchas.

how about the best place to buy a remanufactured tranny? Jasper wants 3k for one. Can I do better?
