P0300 code

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500, 4.8 engine, auto tranny, 2wd. 40k miles.

Started running a little rough, purchased the OBDII cable and "auto tap" software for my laptop. Got a code P0137 and P0300. Changed the drivers side rear (after converter) O2 sensor, this cleared the P0137 code.

I cannot get rid of the P0300 random misfire code. Truck idles rough and has no power, just added some injector cleaner to the tank.

About 6 months ago truck was hard to start, changed the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter, solved that problem, now this.

Guess I will go look under the hood for vacum leaks etc...

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

South Texas

Guess I'll follow up to my own post.

Got fed up and took it to the dealer. They called and said I got water in my fuel. They removed the fuel rails and they were full of rust and this was clogging the injectors, all the fuel lines needed to be replaced as they were rusted and the fuel pump needed replacing.

The price, $1175.

After I regained consciousness :^) I told them not to do anything I would come by for a visit. They had cleaned the fuel rails out and had it running good again but said it would happen again if the above mentioned work was not done. They charged me $195, I will be completing the rest of the work myself.

The fuel lines and the pump cost me $527.

The mechanic was very helpful and I would reccomend them to anyone.

Well I finished all the work, wasn't fun. I chose not to remove the bed. When I got the old lines off and tilted them up, a lot of ugly rust and fuel came out. The dealer had it right.

Hopefully I will never get any more water in my fuel. I will probably change the fuel filter on every other oil change now also. Truck is runing like new.

This forum is great, hope my experience with this helps someone!

I read of a TSB about this problem something about the evap canisters vent being under a drain hole and that is were the water comes from. Dealer could tell you more.
