1999 Auxiliary Power Stud

On a 1999 Tahoe or pickup or suburban, does anyone know what the auxiliary power stud size is? This is located in the fuse box under the hood. There are two power studs in there to hook up auxiliary equipment to but the studs don't have any nuts on them. I have tried 5/16"-18, 5/16"-24, and M8-1.0 none of which fit. Please help as I am trying to hook up some stuff to one of the studs on my sister's 1999 Tahoe.

I think its M8 x 1.25, but I could be wrong

that would be correct. I found out the hard way by purchasing what I thought was right, then finding out I was wrong. Then heading back and buying something else. The old saying "third time is a charm" didn't work...the fourth time did!

By the way, it is the same size as the one on the new body style Silverados and Tahoes just in case anyone else needs a new/additional nut. M8x1.25.

I have a question that is sort of related. Yesterday I was trying to hook up the battery feed for the trailer plug and I noticed that there were two red wires. One has a small eye and the other is larger. Then, there is a blue wire that is disconnected (in two pieces with a weatherproof connector on each end). The red wire with the smaller eye fits on Stud #1 and the larger one fits Stud #2. I'm just assuming, but does the smaller one that goes on Stud #1 go to the trailer plug? I also have to add a fuse at Stud #1, too, right? Also, Do I assume that the larger one goes on Stud #2 to power the trailer brakes and the blue wire goes from the brake controler to the hitch plug? What size is the smaller nut for Stud #1? Lots of questions today! Thanks for any help.

Ok, I'll answer a couple of my questions since I found out today. The nut for Stud #1 is a M6x1.0 and the red wire with the small eye goes there and that powers the trailer battery feed. I hooked mine up today with a 40amp fuse and it works great. Still looking for an answer on the trailer brake wiring.

I dont know what the larger red wire is for on the NBS trucks, but the BLUE wire does get connected to the output on the electric trailer brake controller
