How many turns can i make on the T-bars till i have to have the front end alined?How many inches will it go up?and will the stock shock top out? all i want to do is level it out. thanks Keeper

what year? Z71? a friend of mine had his 02 z71 sierra front torsion bars cranked 1.25in to even his truck out. it looks badass, but ride is hella rough

I wouldn't touch them. Your ride will stiffen up rather harshly, not firmly. You might invest in a body lift instead. The torsion bar adjusters are there for level trim adjustments in case of adding a heavy front-end accessory. These adjusters are not for cosmetic adjustments, such as the leveling thing. Also note that if you raise the front-end up, and you haul anything in the back that has some weight, your back-end will appear to be sagging.

No, I agree with you, Irymal. I raised them on my ZR2 and it made the ride too harsh. On my Sierra, I've been encouraged to crank 'em but I like the way it rides now!

Goodness, I really thought I was the only one. Was even told by a fellow enthusiast that they liked a firm ride. Well, fine, but his truck rode HARSH. Definitely a difference, like a 35 air-pressured tire inflated to 80.

 

On the other hand, if a T-Barred truck has some miles, new shocks and low-mileage tires, and rides harshly, one might try adjusting ever-so-slightly on the T-Bars and I'd bet that softer ride returns. I think these bars can work themselves out of guide through the years.

Thanks for all the good advice, I'll leave them alone. maybe a lift kit later. Keeper
