automatic headlights

I'm talking about the headlights here, not the DRL's. I know I could turn them on manually, but is there any way to adjust the automatic headlights to come on sooner? It's almost completely dark out when mine decide to turn on.

I know this isn't what you might call a proper fix, but I partially covered the sensor on mine with a piece of electrical tape. It's helped.

There is a way to get them to come on sooner!

 

 

Turn the Knob on the dash right above your left leg for the headlights!

you might ask the dealer if they can reprogram that into the computer, I am sure its just a delay setting or a percentage of light on the sensor that makes them come on.

i know a guy that keeps a 20oz coke top of his sensor on his all the time--

..my 2001 'Burban is just the opposite, they turn on as soon as the sun gets 10 degrees from the horizon, or the weather turns cloudy. My old Lincolns had an adjustment for sensativity right on the headlight knob.
