Feel no power

I just recently purchased a 2000 GMC Classic Crew Cab K2500 4x4 with a 454 7.4L

engine with a 410gear,I also have a 95 GMC Z71 with the 350 5.7L and it feels more powerfull than my new ride i realize the weight difference but can someone explain why this is so?

Those ther big blocks were built for pullin...not off the line speed...could be just the set-up....hope you aint lookin for good fuel mileage...just my $.02

The milaege isnt as bad as what ppl told me ive been getting 13-15 around town and on the highway and thats about what i got with my 95 350?? , I have also thought about changing the rear end to 373 or 392 since i will not be towing nothing heavy also im not sure the truck has a 410 rear anyone know what the RPM Range should be when running 65MPh Thanks.

You can check the sticker in the glovebox for the RPO codes and find it on this RPO LIST, that would tell you what gear ratio you have....If you are considering changing the gears, you will need to do the front also if you want to use the 4wd again....

The torque management may also be afffecting your OFF THE LINE perfomanceCheck this Thread, I think the 2000 also have TM...just a thought
