Air filter housing

Hi All,

I was wondering what would be the result if I were to take off the cover to my air filter housing? Just more air flow? Or would I be messing something up.

I mean the top part only. The botom part would stay of course to hold the air filter.

I have a 98 Silverado, 5.7, with the Airhog filter (Fram).

If it's the round style like my stock system was, then go for it!

I think that the only issue you have is that you will be infusing warm under-hood air into your system, as opposed to a nice cool breath from the outside...
