I have had it with GM

I purchased my 01 3500 last month. It was sold to me as a certified truck. 2 weeks ago I took it to Chevy dealer to look at something and he told me that it was not certified in the GM computer, therefore I do not have 3K mile warranty. I got on the phone with the Dealer I got it from. After a lengthy converstaion it turned out that it was certified on the paper, but not in the computer. Supposedly one of the managers put it into the computer on the day when I called them. That was almost 2 weeks ago. To this day there is nothing in the GM computer that states that the truck is certified. I have been on the phone with GM customer support, the dealer that sold it to me and nothing has been done yet. GM support isnt helpfull either. I only have 900 miles left till the warranty expires. I am getting really aggravated here, and getting all kinds of bad ideas. I have had it with the demn GM!!!!!!!!

Where do I go from here peacefully? Corporate? Anyone has their number?

Thanx.

So, if you make it to 3k miles without anything happening, what difference would it make?

Other than the fact that the dealership is dishonest and shady (not that that's a shocker).

Either way, it's not GM's problem...It's the stealership that did the dirty deed.

Just my .02

I have clinging sound and vibration in the steering wheel when going over an area of uneven pavement with light bumps, specially when turning left or right at the same time. Also one of the pulleys started to squeek. I think that this is something that should no go overlooked.

thats messed up, im sure theres something in the legal system that could fix that warranty dispute, but the fan belt squeak, i have that, its because its the wrong belt size and causes it to chirp during start up, or at least mine does only when cold, and im not sure about the clinging or vibes in the steering wheel but it could be that the intermediate shaft needs some grease or replacement, that would probably be expensive also, so i would get in the dealers face about it and threaten them with a lawyer , if its on paper signed by them they have to honor it

Your steering problem is most likely the intermediate steering shaft. I had mine relubed on my '01 HD.

The squeak you hear is the serpentine belt. I had to have mine replaced at 17K miles. My friend has an 8.1L and he had his replaced at 17k and then again at 24K. No more GM belts for us!!!

Unfortunatly your gripe is with the dealer that sold you the truck. He is the one that supposedly "Certified" it... I don't really know that GM customer support can really help, unless you can get them to start barking at the dealer.

Do you have any paperwork that shows the truck was certified?

I actually spoke to gen manager at the dealership. He said that he personally certified it. He also said that he spent over an hour on the phone with GM office today and they walked thru the whole thing again and that it should show up in the system within 48 hours. So figure by thursday it should be in. It better be in. :D
