2005 Sierra Denali Changes

The current extended cab Sierra Denali is one of my favorite trucks and I've always wanted to buy one - someday. Well, for 2005, the truck gains a crewcab, but loses it's 6.5' bed and Quadrasteer. Arrgh! I have my dealer finding me an '04 now and I hope to take delivery next week.

Interesting options on the '05. They've bumped up the base 6.0 engine hp by 20 and the torque by 15, but also offer a "Light duty power package" for $625 that includes the 5.3 engine.

I don't think I've ever seen an optional engine that is smaller than the base power plant.

Congrats, I hope they can find you one.  Are you keeping the CTS and 'Vette?

With my youngest child living with us headed off to Parris Island this winter, and assuming no others move back in, we'll have an empty house. My wife wants us to get a handicap accessible trailer so we can visit grandkids.

I have a very anxious buyer for the vette. He showed up at work today with a cashiers check for my asking price.

I love my Sierra Denali Greg. My wife actually said to me today,"Isn't it about time for a new truck", I usually get a new one every 2 years. I said 'There is no truck out there that I like better than this one". I love the Q-steer and the look of the special fenders! It's only got 17k miles on it anyway, but it's a "business" vehicle, and it's a deduction. Might have to get her a new truck this year instead, she's got a 2002 Avalanche.

I have been sending emails to GM Product Suggestions for years asking them to build this truck. Basically we want the "Sierra Cx" concept from a few years ago. They already make the 1500HD with QuadraSteer -- they just have to put the Denali AWD on it and add the interior upgrades. My emails to them have been in vain .....
