painting help

[west chevy hd]

i plan on painting the bowtie emblem and the black parts of my grill the color of my truck this weekend. i was just curious on what type of primer and what type of paint to get to make this look the best. if all goes well i want to pant the handles and mirror caps also. is the prep work and paint choice the same for all these parts?

 

will the spray paint you find at the auto store work? cant remember the name of the stuff but the also make the touch up paint too. think its called duplicolor or something

I think with chrome you will need to scuff the surface before painting otherwise the new paint will not stick. Take your time with the paint and it should look ok, I think the paint you chose will work ok as long as you don't require an absolutely perfect match because I doubt you will be able to achieve it with touch up paint.
