Camaro Seats??

Has anyone put any leather seats from a new style camaro (2000) or from any other car into the new body still fullsize (2004)?

You would have to have some huge spacers to get one of those seats to a decent height.

Im not worried about spacers, lol im 6' 5" my head brushes against the roof occasionally i am my own spacer.

 

The reason i want these seats is so i can have a lower set interior more like a sporty truck with a flow through center console around the shifter.

Concerns other than the spacers: seat belts and sensors. Unless you put a harness in, you will have to find a mount for the seat belts. In the newer models, there are seat sensors for turning on/off the passenger side airbags. Might not be such an easy mod.

I own both a fullsize and Z28 - camaro seats are designed to be held down to the floor with bolts facing upwards (attached to the floor plans).

 

All 82-02 camaro seats have the same frame.

 

I just put 97 model Z28 seats in my 91 Z28 and they couldnt line up any better. On a truck it would be tons different. Support frames for one thing.

Plus they sit very low to the ground. Mine are 6 way electric, and even with them all the way tall, they are still very short.

I own an 01 Firehawk and an 02 Silverado and just looking at the two seats side by side I don't think there's anyway to get it high enough to see over the steering wheel, plus the problems with the seat belts. I'd just order some nice seats out of jegs or summit to replace the stock ones.
