Tailgate cable recall

I got the recall letter from GM Tuesday, saying the cables were in stock. The next day I got a letter from the deler asking why I haven't called for an appointment! They must be making a ton of money for replacing the cables. I called today for an appt and she said it takes 1/2 hour. At 70-80 bucks an hour and hundreds of trucks sold from each dealer...

Mine took 15 minutes. Oh well they gotta make there money somehow.

Had mine done this morning. Took about 20 minutes from the time I walked in. Glad I didn't have to pay for the replacing them. I also filled out paper work so I can get reimbursed for the cables I bought when mine broke last winter. Said I should receive my money in about 4 weeks.

Actually, as a recall, the dealerships are getting paid 4/10th of an hour.

 

That's why you were told about 1/2 hour to wait. (Paperwork, and such).

 

But, you are right, we're getting them in in 10 minutes or so.
