Heater door actuator

Hi I'm new to this forum. Just bought a 2000 silveraso LS ext cab 4x4. Love my truck but it has a few querks. Major problem for today seems to be the heater door actuator. When I start my truck any turn the temp. control switch to hot it will put out hot air.(truck engine warm) if I turn the control back to cold it will remain hot. I have replaced the head control unit and it does the same thing. does any one have any suggestions. Thank you very much.

I had the exact same problem with my 99 silverado. They replaced the controls and that did not help. I talked them into changing the damper and that was the fix.

thanks sstimothy I put in an actuator this afternoon and things seem to be working correctly.
