Ever see a spider like this before

My girl works at a radio station and called to let me know that she found a spider outside that looked like a jack-o-lantern, yeah right.... I'm thinking, so I go up there ,and sure enough, thats what it looks like.

Anyone ever see one like it before???

Your spider in question is indeed the Pumpkin Spider

It's also known as the Cat-Faced Spider. They're around all year in some regions of the country, but they are immature and much smaller so you don't notice them until they mature into their full size, which is in the fall. Some species have large protuberances on their abdomen that are often referred to as "horns." These horns resemble cat's ears (if you use your imagination), hence their other name. They are orb web weavers, so their webs are usually large in size, like the webs of garden spiders.

Pumpkin spiders are quite harmless, and in fact, should be considered beneficial as they eat a large number of insects, including several pest species.

seen one super spider yesterday LOL some guy took a roll of hay, and 8 metal bars and bent them into legs and had they sticking out of hte hay and it looked like a 100 foot spider lol

in the ffall we have the massive super suipders around here, they always appear a few weeks before halloween. Wingnut may know what I'm talking about they are about the size of a silver dollor incluing their legs, and the abdomen is about the size of dime-size hail. they are a reddish orange, and their webs get huge. in fact, when carring mail, I have seen some webs that have anchor points, 10-15 YARDS apart(for instance from the tree branch on one tree, to the branch on a smaller tree which isn't touching the first) I'm suprised Spiders have enough "judgment" to be about to build webs like that. that'd be like mounting a hammock on trees 4 blocks apart!
