I'm in the process of uploading all the old Tech Articles/Guides, so if some of you could check out this link and let me know if they are working. Tech Corner They will be unter the "Installations" and "Technical/Maintenance" links.

Most are all the old ones than have been on here for a while, but I have a few new ones and a couple updates to some of the old ones. I will add which ones are updated.

If anyone has any they would like to add to the site, please send the info and pics to [email protected]. Include your name so I can give you credit for your info. Also, proof read your own stuff please. :P

Yeah, I havn't figured that one out yet. Somehow I got it to show the 4 on page two, but then I couldn't get back to page one. I got the first ten back somehow, but I'm not sure what I did.

Waiting on admin to give a hand.

Mountaineer Tom,

How about uploading this to the tech section:

Okay,

Here is the deal on your radio light bulbs for the Tahoe. There are 2 different part numbers for a total of 10 bulbs:

16189302 - you need 8

16189300 - you need 2

The first part number is $2 per bulb, the second part number is $4 per bulb. They can be purchased from AJR International in Chicago, (630) 832-0222. They should all be replaced at the same time, I know that you had a bunch out, mine started blowing on my way home from North Carolina the time you asked me about them. The radio has to come out of the truck, remove the cover and very carefully remove the face plate ( fragile plastic clips) be careful when handling the face plate, the buttons can fall out. Once the face plate is removed, the bulbs are right there, but they are soldered to the circuit board. very carefully remove the screws on the circuit board, the piece of tin around the tape deck opening can be carefully pulled off, it is not glued, just in by friction. Start by carefully unsoldering the posts of the light bulbs. Once the old bulbs are all out, you can replace them with he new ones. I used a sharpie to mark which bulbs were black base, and which were tan base. Make sure that you do not hit the solder trace with the iron. Put the new bulbs in and solder them, just snip off the extra length of the posts as close as you can before reassembling. The whole thing is really not that hard, and with shipping, I think my parts cost me $29. Oh yeah, there is one tall clear light looking thing sticking up, this is not a bulb, it is a LED and does not need to be replaced.

I have seen a lot of requests for this info, I looked but did not see a way to do an upload.

Is the Tech Corner where I can find the article about how to solder a circuit board to fix a problem with wipers not turning off? I couldn't see anything like that in that area.

We don't have any info covering that in the tech articles. I have heard of people doing something like that, but don't know the details. Sorry.

There may be a topic in the forums about it though.
