I have a 2000 Z71 LT with the compass mirror, my question is this: Do all compass mirrors have the temp ability or do they come in compass only and compass and temp combo?

I'm wondering because mine only reads compass but not temp although at starting the engine for a fraction of a sec the display shows 0F.. I wonder if I'm just missing the temp probe or maybe its just malfunctioning. Where should I look for it if my mirror is actually equiped with the feature....?? Or is my mirror compass only..... ???

Perhaps you could check your RPO codes in your glovebox

All of the '99 and many of the '00 only had the compass feature and not both temp and compass. If your mirror has both temp and compass, the buttons would have temp and compass. I am betting your buttons only have compass and mirror on it.

Mito Corp is the makers of these gentex mirrors and now sells the mirror that does both at the same time. Maybe you could try amd contact them.
