Body Lift

I really want to lift my 02 silverado. I would like a 3-4" lift, but with the warranty I have on the truck, the dealer says it will void parts of it. So I am putting more thought into a body lift. I have tried doing some searches, but I have a few dilemas that I couldn't find answers to. Here they are.

1) Nerf Bars. Is there anything you can buy to move these up or is this just a custom mod.

2) Grill guard. Is there anything for this or a custom mod also.

3) Do they make any aftermarket tow hooks for the front?

4) The truck has the tow package. Since part of the hitch is bolted to the bumper, what do you do with it after moving the bumper up?

THanks for any info.

I do not know of anything made for body lifted trucks except gap guards.

I have successfully raised a set of nerf bars on a body lifted truck by redrilling the holes higher and cutting off the extra on the bracket--looks like stock.

The hitch stays, for the 99 up PA 3" lift it comes with block to go between the bumper and hitch.

1.) Like mentioned by XR man, I modified my brackets to raise my step rails.

There are some that mount to the body of the truck, rather than the body mounts and frame. NFAB is one company that comes to mind.

2.) You would havve to make custom brackets or modify the ones that come with the grille guard.

3.) You can remove the factory tow hooks and replace them with a set of regular style tow hooks that can be found at most local auto parts stores. It more than likely will require drilling at least one hole in the frame rail to mount the aftermarket hooks. I would use Grade 8 hardware for this if you do it.

4.) Here's what XR man was talking about with the spacers for the bumper and hitch.

I have a bunch of pics and info HERE from when I put my body lift on, if you want to check it out.

Good luck.
