Last night I went to put my truck in "Auto". The light never came on. Usually it blinks 3 times and is in. LAst night no blink, and no lights lit. Not even 2wd. I can kick it in 4hi I didn't check 4 low. I held the auto button in and the light would come on but as soon as I let go no lights.

 

I kicked back to 2 wd and left it. Now the front end feels funny, loose? At the very end of a full turn.

 

Any ideas?

 

My truck is a 2000, 5.3, auto, regular cab. 65k.

I had a very similar problem and it turned out to be the switch in the dash. I've also heard of the switch causing Service 4wd lts, seems to be very common. the part is about $40 from the dealer.
