Upgrade 2-zone CC to digital CC?

Where are the temp sensors for the auto (digital) climate control? Are they on the unit itself, or in remote locations in the cab?

If they are on the unit, is the wirign the same n the manual and digital CC?

Any help?

I have heard it is possible to just change the head unit. The fan motor on the auto runs off of a variable resistor(POT), so I don't know if it is in the unit or not either. I think the temp sensor is the tiny screen above the driver door in the headliner. If the manual HVAC trucks do not have this little screen up there, I think it is probably just a matter of running the wire and hiding it somewhere in the cab. Like I said I am not sure on the changeout so I would keep the post updated until you get some real technical info. Good luck!

I'm curious if you ever found anything out about this. I want to replace my manual controls with automatic one, but I've got an 04 Sierra, not that it differs from your Silverado.

I'm working on it and it is alot more than a plug change and temp sensor addition. For starters there are 8 different sensors that need to be added, a fan speed control module, a differnt harness for the senors and fan speed control and maybe a different blower motor. I have all the pinouts for the control head and the control head itself but I don't have the full cab layout yet and I haven't checked out the fan motor yet. I will let everyone know as soon as I do.
