Any word on whats going to be in them. Are they keeping the 4.8 5.3 and 6.0. and work them up, or are they going to start with all new blocks. They are going to need something to take out that new 6.1 Hemi.

Guys on the other GM site said there working on a V-10 block for the HD's and will drop the big block, also rumors have that there working on some new blocks to replace the 5.3, and 6.0.!

They need to drop the ugly front-end they have now.

Just look at the one that's always at the top of this forum, not only is it ugly, it looks like its an upside-down setup.

Chevy please fix this with your new gen trucks.

 I say bring back the 454...and .89 gasoline to power it....

On a side note. What where the numbers of the 454 SS truck.

Don't remember the exact numbers, but it wasn't very fast. I think the 1/4 was like 17.1 or something. But with a 454, there's alot of room for improvement! And man, that was one good looking truck!

While I am a 454/big block fan, I think the current generation of engines are great. Yes, they have room for improvement, but improvements instead of all new is the way to go. Look at what Westers/Nelsons do with the tuning alone! Do that from the factory with a larger cam and a larger butterfly.

They can do it, it is a matter of whether they will or not.

I do agree, they need to build a "rich" looking truck again, not something that looks like it fell off the space station.

I don't care if they keep the existing engines and improve them or use a new design for the next generation. I just want something quiet like the old 350, but with the power of the 5.3 or 6.0. I don't want to hear any piston slap or lifter tick on my next truck. And no painted dash or other interior pieces

The first thing they need to do is cut off the front end. Then we can talk about the rest. I am surprised they have kept this body style so long, the inbetween style was only here for 2 years, but it is still used for the tahoe and burb. I think that looked a lot better than what they have now. I do not know how the NBS run other than the few rentals that I have driven and beat all to heck for a few days. I like the power, and I have been told that they pull well also. If they do have piston slap, i do not see a big problem with that, the 5.0 and 5.7 both had a well known valve clatter that was near impossible to get rid of. Every engine has it's ups and downs. Any how, anything will be better than what they have now. Does anyone have any sales figures for the new body style trucks verses the old body style? I would like to see if they lost market share due to the fugly body.

:D I like the new look better than the old look. Its nice to have a change. Besides I think the new headlights make the truck look like its pissed off. The styling was good enough to transition me from a car to a truck so I give a  to GM!
