Side Mirror Question

I have an 01 Silverado and I want to cover up the chrome on the side mirrors. I was wondering if there were pieces that I could buy to cover it, or do I need all new mirrors? If this is just a piece to buy where could I find it? Thanks in advance for any help.

why are you covering them? Every think about painting them?

My truck is black and I saw a truck without the chrome on it and it looked good. I am also debating removing the body molding off of the door panels. I guess the real reason that I am doing it is because I think it looks good. Never thought about painting it. I thoguht I read somewhere that you could buy a cover for them, so I thought that I would go that route.

I painted mine black. Performance products has replacements that are ready to paint I think they may be black already

I think that the chrome part is an insert and pops in and out. I know that I've seen some companies offering the inserts chrome, or ready for paint...maybe even painted already.

I bought prepainted black ones for my signal mirrors. I haven't installed my mirrors yet, but I got the prepainted ones on Ebay. I think $45 for both? I figured it was cheaper and easier than a professional paintjob on the existing ones.
