Crossmember TSB

I had posted earlier about a one time click in the steering wheel and the response by GM-Tech was a TSB about the crossmember being pulled, cleaned, and reinstalled. I didn't believe this was the issue at the time. But today it Iced/Snowed and the truck didn't do it at all. Less friction on the road I guess. But my question is, is it the crossmember in the very front? I have a plow setup on the truck (04 Sierra). It's probably where the plow frame is attached at the bottom, right? If so, maybe this is why mine sounded/felt different since the plow frame might stiffen that area up. I guess I will have to take the plow frame off before taking it to the dealer. Maybe in Spring :dupe:

Was it a crossmember or was it the intermediate shaft?

It's the one under the engine. It has four long through bolts that run fore and aft, two per side.

I will have to crawl under and look again, I just changed oil this weekend and I think that's the one above the skid plate. In your opinion would a snow/ice covered road prevent the popping from happening? Thanks

Yeah, I can see that having an effect. Without a firm grip on the pavement, the tires aren't imparting the torque on the suspension components and therefore the frame, as they normally would.
