another air intake question

So, I have some money, I have some time, and I want to put on a new air intake on my truck. I have the exhaust but I need the airflow to make it worth anything besides a good sound, so my question to all you truck guys is; which is the best air intake to put put on my 2002 silverado with a 5.3?????? I am leaning towards K & N but am open to any suggestions. Thanks for your help

I put a K&N filter in the existing housing. It didn't seem to make any difference power or mileage wise.

This has been beaten to death like a dead horse. I dunno what to say. At this time the only Intake I am considering is the UPD (NSV) Intake. Granted, I dunno if the increases will be as high as the Open Element units like the K&N FIPK and Air-Raid style Intakes due to their ability to pull Hot Engine Air, but since I have 4WD I want to keep as much Mud and Water off the filter as possible. Intakes like the Vara-Ram, UPD (NSV) and Volant are closed allowing succesful off-road uses.

Got an airaid kit and spacer for x-mas. Shhh... it's a secret. I will post my findings when I assemble it on Sunday, 12/26.
