GM offers three colors for there leather truck interiors, grey, beige and charcoal.

Which in your opinions will hold up best over time.

I had charcoal on my 99 and now I have light grey on my 03. The carpet, floor mats, and dash on the grey definately hide the dust better than the dark graphite but the leather shows everything. I have had to saddle soap my grey leather already at 27,000 miles. I had my 99 for five years and never used more than a damp towel on the seats. One advantage of the grey is the heat. In the summer the graphite is almost unbearable to set on if you live in a hot climate. The grey stays much cooler. Just my .02.

I have light grey in my wifes van. It really shows the dirt and requires frequent cleaning.

The graphite (Dark) leather in my truck is the exact opposite, and doesn't show any dirt.

I've had all three colors in dif. vehicles, the darker the better. The tan in my Tahoe, always looked dirty, even after a heavy cleaning, and if you wear jeans it can look blueish. The grey is good, and yes it's cooler, but can still show wear quicker.

My 04 has the dark/graphite color it is by far the best color :seeya: . I rub in the leather conditioner about 2x/year and use the meguires leather wipes about once a month or more to do a simple clean. My leather is soft and has a good look to it. The only wear is where my lard a$$ slides in and out of the driver seat 5x/day or more.

I've had much better luck with lighter colored interiors and exteriors for that matter. I've got a yellow lab and a white cat, so they're hair is much less noticeable on beige. Dust will also be more noticeable on a dark interior.

That said, one other thing to consider if you live in a hot climate is the heat factor during summer of a dark interior. Of course, tinted windows can negate some of this, but something to consider.

I like the dark charcoal because I don't like the interior reflecting light back. I like to look out into the light.....sounds like a philosophy  ......but I'm curious about something. Does the dark charcoal come with matched dash or are all the dashes the same grey? I've seen the gray leather and it comes with a grey dash with the charcoal panel inserts.

Thanks for all your replies.

I ended up getting an 05 GMC 2500HD 4X4 SLT loaded with the 6.0 silver birch exterior and dark graphite interior. It also has the panasonic DVD player which is just sweet. Got it with just 18 miles and she is a runner. I have noticed like mentioned in earlier posts that GM has cut back on the DIC features like the instant MPG and annual mileage log. That's too bad. I have 300 miles on it and have and have averaged 13 MPG.

I will not complain as it is new and I did buy it to be used as a truck. I took advantage of all the rebates and ended up getiing $ 6,138.00 in rebates as GM

sent me an additional bonus for my GM card earnings. I paid $ 36,661.00 after tax and Lic. here in N. CA. This translates to $ 500.00 over invoice and that is the best I have ever been able to get when dealing on a new truck. It seems here in Cali-fornia the dealers wont sell at or below invoice. I will now have to look at refinancing as I got a rate of 7.75% for 60 mos. with no $ down.
