Ive got a 2001 Chevy 1500 RCSB 4wd. I would like to lowering it maybe 3/5, but I need to know the best kit to do so for my 4wd. If you could give me the exact details that would be great, because I want to get the best kit and hopefully install it soon. Also will I have to knotch my frame?

So another lowered 4x4, I think its catchin on! ha ha First you do not need to notch the frame, for my 3/5 I went with Belltech 2” rear lowering shackles and hangers, they dont make them 4x4 I just used 2wd parts. I also took out the lift blocks in the rear, when you do that you need to get 2wd u bolts or I think you can cut them. I just bought the 2wd ones. In the front I used the Mcgaughy front drop spindles for 4x4's and Belltech torsion bar keys. I would go with just the spindles first and if you want to go alittle bit lower then get the keys, cause they didnt really lower it a whole lot. The spindles lower it correctly too. In the rear you will have to remove the bump stop from the hanger thing and mount it to the frame. There is already holes in the frame for it too, mine are trimmed alittle too. I also trimmed the front one down alittle bit. Hope this helps abit here is a pic mine with the 3/5 drop with 22's

I have a 99 Tahoe 2 door 4WD I recently lowered... went with a Bell Tech kit, rear springs, new torsion bar keys, and Nitro Drop shocks. Absolutley LOVE it!

I also just lowered my 2003 Tahoe LT with AutoRide. I used BellTech's kit specifically for AutoRide. I had to trim the front bump stops (1 donut) but they may need more trimming. I am afraid if I trim more off, then the steel cup that the bump stop sits in will hit the LCA.

Because I have a Flowmaster cat-back, the exhaust pipes hit the rear axle during longer suspension travel. The pipes don't have humps bent in them where the go over the axle – very surprising.

Local shop (and most other shops) cannot do mandrel bends in 3in pipe. Not sure how I am going to fix.
