Avalanche took a "lickin"....

I was at the bank using the walk-up ATM today. I heard a big "Crunch" behind me. I turned around to see a lady in a new Lexus (with 2 poodles in the front seat) has backed right into the Front Passenger side portion of my new Avalanche. She caught the corner of my front bumper starting at her rear quarter, proceeded on to her rear door and finally stopped at her front door. Completely denting each panel on her car. I kind of just shook my head and couldn't believe it. How the hell can you "not see" this big rig? Kind of like running into a small building. When I got to my truck to view the damage....there was a "slight" crack in the cladding of the bumper, some "Lexus-Gold Paint" scraped on my bumper and a couple of broken clips that held the cladding onto the frame. Not one bit of damage to any metal body panel. I had my digital camera so I snapped a few shots and we exchanged info and off I went.

Hate to see what a body shop wants for fixing a whole side of a new Lexus! I'm getting a new skin for my bumper is all (hopefully)!

Sure hope this doesn't take too long to fix. I sure hate being without my Avalanche for very long!

I keep you guys posted!

Happy Holidays!

Sounds like you kept your cool.  :(

Maybe she just started backing up instead of looking. I can`t hardly imagine her not seeing that thing setting beside her. Then again she may have been putting FOO FOO in a car seat and really not paying attention. :notice:

Glad to see no one got hurt.  Not to mention too much damage to your new ride.   :D   Here is another reason why I hate pets in the front seat.  She might have been paying too much attention to them.  They might have even been driving!! :(  :D

Glad to hear that you weren't injured and that you dind't loose your head.  It always hurts to see that first scratch be a big one.  But, I think that because just the plastic was busted they may just have to get a new piece and pop the old one off and put the new one on.  If that's all there it to it that plastic cladding may actually be usefull.

Well how can you expect her to see your little truck without your hazard lights on.    :(

Too bad about the new truck I'm impressed that you kept your cool.  My temper probably would have led me make use of the Avalanches functionality.  Drop the midgate and load up the lexus in the back and head over to the nearest cliff.

Thanks for all the support. "Hazard light", "drive to cliff"....You guys are hysterical! :(

Her insurance has been in touch and seems like this shouldn't be any really big pain in my butt.

I got plenty of pics (jpgs) but no web space to post them for everyone to view.

Can I get a quick tutorial from anyone?

Try Yahoo. I registered there to buy stuff at their auction and found out they had a place to post pictures. I haven't used it yet cause I have a website. So I don't know how it works. I think it's free.

Or you can email them to me if you want and I'll put them up for you.

Figured it out. Did the Webphotos.com thing!

Here's the Lady that "couldn't see my rig" in the parking lot.
