Hi, I have a 95 Z71, i use my 4wd alot and today was the first time it went out, i was on ice, it worked fine all day and all the sudden it just went off. i was wondering if anyone knew any possible problems, i checked the fuse i check linkages underneeth the truck. i'm not sure what could be wrong with it. If you can help please do!

Since the 1995 trucks do not have the pesky push button 4x4 problems, yours must have died of a front axle disconnect failure. It probably quit working when you cycled the ignition key as the CAD cycles on and off when the key is cycled. That is usually when they fail.

 

You can purchase a new CAD at any GM dealer or Napa. Or better yet, install one of these
