Wheel Cleaner and Polish

Recommended Posts

I just received my new wheels for the HD. I want to polish them really good before I put them on, just to make sure they have a good protective coating on them until next time I clean them.

:D What is the best polish aluminum wheel cleaner and polish you can use? What type of cloth is use to buff the wheel without leaving too much swirl?

I thought these wheels were plastic coated. If they are, I wouldn't polish them with anything abrasive.

As far as wheel cleaners go, I had really good luck with Westley's Hot Rims. It's supposed to be safe for all wheels, plastic coated or not, or painted.

The wheels I am talking about are American Eagle Series 187's.

Bet there's a lot of good products out there, but you might just give this place a try....look for "Glisten PC" for a permanent fix....they have other products that are more traditional as well. These guys specialize in auto restoration products.

I always have used Mothers Mag and Wheel polish with a soft cotton terry towel. Then I follow that up with a nice thick coat of regular wax. The wax is what really helps keep the break dust and dirt off of them.

The detailing board is saying that RejeX is great for wheels if you wanna go as far as buying it. It's advertised for the whole car, but they are very particular about their shine, but say it last forever on wheels. Here's the webpage for it:
