Hey guys, im new to the forum, and I must say, this is a great forum...anyways I was wondering what were the HP/Torque numbers for the 5.7L that came in the 96-00 silverado's. I searched the forum to no avail, so i figure i might as well ask the guys who know best. Im swapping it into my S-10 so i am just kinda curious on what kinda 1/4 mile times i might come close too when im done with my beast...;) Oh, and if anybody knows where i might be able to find one in the Chicago area it would be a great help.

Thanks, Bryan.

Sweet, thanks for the super fast reply. Hopefully that'll give me a good 1/4 mile time, roughly mid 14's. What kinda cam do you guys suggest for the 5.7L to liven it up a bit, yet still be semi street legal?

Well, i have a RCSB s-10 weighs roughly 3500 pounds. Right now im running 15.6 with just a cold air intake and exhaust. My v-6 is pushing maybe 180 HP/250 TQ @ the flywheel right now. So you are saying that 60 more HP?TQ isn't goign to lower my 1/4 time by 1 sec? And im prolly not going to have it be completely stock when i install it in my truck, i'll have a cam, roller rockers, MSD ignition box, and prolly a 150 shot of nitrous to go on top of it. Im just roughly guessing what the times will be on the stock motor. If you have a better estimate i'd like to hear it.

AAHHH crap, sorry. I didn't see the part about it being in a s-10. I thought you were talking about a full size.
