how did you guys wire in off road lights for your grille guards? haven't bought them yet. I imagine they will come with instructions. Just trying to get a heads up on what to expect. I know nothing about electricity other than it hurts sometimes.

Also, haven't settled on which kind yet. what do yall recommend?

I bought some K&N Daylighters from CSK Auto. $99 and they are pretty friggin bright. The instructions have two different wiring options (i think only two, but might be three) and I picked the one that allows the lights to only be turned on if my headlights are turned on. I like this because then I know for sure that the lights are on because I will be able to see them on. I don't want to drive around with them on in the daytime or when the plastic covers are on the lights because they will melt (it happened to my cousin). Also, the switch included with the K&N wiring kit lights up so it is extra easy to see if the lights are on.

The wiring kit includes all the necessary hardware and plently of wire but I did find that the ground wire included needed to be a few inches longer because I have my relay setup in front of my batter (on that bar the holds the radiator up) and I picked a horrible location for the ground. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, especially if you have ever looked at a wiring diagram from one of the Chilton books or other books with wiring diagrams of these trucks. I attached the ACC line to my headlights so that they have to be on to trigger the K&N's to turn on and I mounted the switch below the dash with one of those screws that holds the plastic cover below your steering wheel on and one other self-tapping screw of my own. All in all, it took me about 2 hours to wire the thing and aim and tighten down the K&Ns because I had no idea where I should aim them.

I hope this helped.

Good luck and be sure to post pics as soon as you get your lights installed.

I have the Hella "Black Magic" lights and like them a lot. Everything is included, so nothing extra is needed when you buy the set.

They are a "eurobeam" which is a combination fog/pencil which throws a beam more like an oval. The performance is excellent and I have them mounted on my Manic guard as well.

You won't be disappointed!
