Fog Lights

Little help please, I added factory fog lights to my 2002 Silverado, had to add the wiring ,relay, switch and of course lights. I understand I will have to get the BCM programmed to accept the lights. Can anyone tell me if it can be done any place other than the dealership? They want 88 dollars to do the program, to me that seems high for what maybe 15 minutes work. Any other routes on this would be a great help!!

It is a little known fact, but anybody with a tech 2 can download profiles from GM to reflash BCMs and ECMs. Happened about 6 months ago that GM was fored to release its info.

Really. Where exactly can they do this? Even at the dealership we can't download information to reflash modules. We have to use proprietary software installed on a PC that is connected to our GM Access server.

I can see where GM could be required to release calibration information. I just haven't heard of it or seen it available anywhere.
