Steering clunck is getting fixed Friday

I took my truck in last fall for the tailgate recall and to get the steering clunck fix. The shaft was on backorder and have had to wait for it to come in.

Well the shaft is in and getting installed on Friday!!

Did they order the shaft last fall and it is just now getting in??!! I took my truck in to get it fixed last week and they said they had to order the shaft which is currently on backorder. I though it would be here in a couple of weeks, not a couple of months!! How long does it take to get the shafts in?

They've been on backorder for a while and continue to be on backorder. I guess that the dealers get them as they come available.

I took my truck in at the first of November because my shaft was clunking around badly. They too didn't have the revised shaft, but lubed it up and told me the new part was on order and they "would call me." Yeah, right, I thought. Lo and behold, I got a card in the mail saying my part was in last week. Talked to the parts man and they have 40 in stock. Now all I have to worry about is if they will do it under warranty......
