Exhaust dumped on differential question

Will this cause any problems? I wouldn't think it would, but want to be sure. The shop that installed my muffler dumped it before the axle instead of after like I requested, and the turndown they used has the exhaust exiting about 6 or 7 inches form the differential, aimed more or less at it. With alot of highway driving, will this make the diff. too hot with the extra heat being thrown at it?

our old '74 is just like that. It points at the pig but its at least 10" away. That case is a chunk of steel that creates it's own heat and the exhaust probably doesn't add that much more.. I wouldn't worry about it because there's plenty of air flow on the highway.

Why did you opt for the under-bed turndown anyways? Clearance issues for off-roading?

I actually preferred the looks of this setup. My preference would've been for duals running out the back, but that would've required 2 mufflers, and x-pipe/h-pipe, etc. At $80 for the muffler and installation, this was a good deal to me. As far as loudness goes, it is just perfect for my tastes. The car with Borlas is still louder, even compared to this new setup

You might want to be careful when you are stopped for a length of time and have the engine idling as exhaust gasses may seep up and can come in the windows. :smash:

should make a difference for in cab, but might cause some exhaust gas problem in your bed. I read an article about a fellows dog suffering from CO poisoning in the dog box cause of the exhaust.
