Truck was restored 15 years ago. Been sitting for a while and needing to be gone through again. Guy just had too many thing on his plate, so he sold to me. I'm planning to have fun fixing her up. Drives great for a 32 year old truck. Small block is strong.

This is going to be a great compliment to my 04 CC!

Nice ride. Yeah, I also wouldn't mind an 80's K5...we had a Jimmy of that vintage at the old department I volunteered for...so much potential.

COOL  I wouldn't mind having a truck from that generation. Post some pictures when your done!

I've been searching the paper, local trader magazines, ebay and the web for a 71-72 4x4 for a while. Thought I found one in ND, but it was an 800 mile trip on way.

Then my secretary's husband said "my boss has a 72 that he was trying to sell last fall...no takers...not actively trying to sell, but if you made him an offer..."

So I wandered by and checked out the truck. Then talked to him and drove it. He was pretty firm on the price and I couldn't blame him. Aside from a cab corner and some surface rust, it's a very straight truck. Fired right up on a cold northern Missouri morning (28 degrees, truck had been sitting outside). Drove nice.

We talked about price and I ended up paying what he was asking...$3,500. Not a great deal for me, but I do not think I got screwed by any means. I'm thinking if I fixed the rust spots and painted her I'm looking at a $5-6k truck, easy. But I'm not in this to buy-fix-sell.

This is the truck I've been looking for, almost exactly. Wanted 3/4 ton 4x4 with 350 v8 and stick shift. All the other goodies that people tell me are hard to come by (in dash tach, tilt, AC) are just icing on the cake. Now it's time to start tearing her down and building her back up. Should be fun. I'll keep you posted.
