i saw an ad for a 99 2500 GMC that had a 6.0L engine in it.

I have a friend at work who has a 2000 Chevy 2500 with a 3500 in his and another buddy with a 99 3500 Chevy (non dually) with the 454.

I was just curious when the last model years were when the 350 got phased out.

not too particular in the 1500s. No disrespect their.

thanks.

Thats cool.

I was just curious why i saw an ad (autotrader.com) for a 99 GMC 2500 with the 6.0L and have seen other Chevy 2500s with the 350.

No matter. I believe they are all good!

I still love my 87 (190K miles). Not the best looking. Not the fastest or most powerful. But i beat on it, load it up in the bed, abuse it off road and it just keeps trucking on! Im not sure i would do that to a $30K + truck!

In 2000 my dad bought a OBS 2500 with the 350. It was produced in feb/2000, and was sold in early summer. The dealer said it was the last one he had seen in the area at the time. (Bakersfield CA.)

It has been a hassel getting parts for it, cause everyones computer, ie autozone walmart....etc show that in 2000 a 350 is not an option.

My friend has a '00 excab/shortbed K2500 with a 454 under the hood. It is an OBS truck.

The HD2500 (NBS) trucks came out in '01.

I believe in '99 you could get an LD2500 NBS truck with the 6.0L. It was only available with a lower GVW and as an excab shortbed. I don't think the 6.0L in '99 had aluminum heads but rather cast iron.

The silverado was introduced in 99, however, in model years 99 and 00, they sold both the silverado (new body style) and the C/K series (old body style). Silverado was only available in 1500 and 2500. In the 2500 they had light duty (7200 GVW) and heavy duty (8600 GVW). With the light duty 2500 you could get the 5.3 or the 6.0 but the 8600 gvw was only available with the 6.0.

The C/K were available as 1500 (on ext. cab 4 x 4), 2500 (8600 GVW), 3500 SRW (9200 GVW) and 3500 dually (10,000 GVW). Engines for these were the vortec 350 and 454 and 6.5 turbo diesel.

The C/Ks were phased out in 01 when they introduced silverado HDs. That's also when they introduced the Vortec 8100 and the DMax.

It ended the vortec 350s except for limed use in vans.

The vortec 454 and the 6.5 diesel continued to be used in the C-3500HD (old body style with 15,000 GVW) until 2002 and then they offered the vortec 8.1 and the 6.5 diesel until the Kodiak line was introduced (4500 medium duty) whenever that was (200?).

I think all of this is correct but if others find mistakes, that's no problem either.
