I have a 99 Chevy Siverado Z71 regular cab with a 5.3 and 3:73 rear gears. The truck

now has 106000 miles and has been perfect. It has never had anything done to it other

than oil changes and the ABS module replaced at 40000 miles. It still has original brakes, hoses, plugs, antifreeze etcc... When would you guys suggest I have the hoses and belts and stuff done? Am I on borrowed time with them now? Should I have the trans serviced? Thanks for your imput.

Definitely do the brakes!! You might be driving in my neck of the woods and my dog might be chasing a squirrel across the street... I'd hate for you to hit him (the dog, that is)!

I'd put a new serpentine belt on it too...

Air filter.

Fuel filter.

In Cab filter (if equipped).

Top off the diffs and xfer case.

Think about new shocks.

I'd replace that listed by the guys above. As for hoses, not sure on the lifespam, but you can feel them to see if they're excessively soft or hard, and if there's cracking.

The way I see it, replace all that stuff now with factory parts. If you went 106K with no problems, why not feel safe and hopefully go another 106K with no problems. I hate it when a vehicle let's you down due to a broken hose or belt. If I'm gonna be stuck, let it be for something major, but if you are maintaining your fluids, that should be rare also.

I don't think you can stress "Factory Parts" enough! Yeah, there are some decent aftermarket replacement parts out there, but why take chances?
