Fender Flares

Looking at new 2500HDs & noticing that the fender flares all seem to be color-coded. Do they not come in black anymore? Or is it part of the base package?

It varies by color of the truck. Blue, for example, has black. I think green and white has color coded, etc.

When I compare the new flares to the black ones on my K2500 Suburban, the new ones are very difficult to deal with when you wax the truck... The color coded ones are glossy. It would almost be better with painted black ones as far as I am concerned.

Thanks for the heads up. The black ones on my 03 are a bit of a pain when waxing too but I like the looks a lot better. I think the blacks look more utilitarian.

I just ordered my truck in Nov. 04 and the fleet guy told me the fender flare color on the 2500's are body color dependent. Don't ask me why.

When I ordered mine, and my buddy got his, the flares are not just body color depentant, but package as well. A green LS will have black flares, a green LT will body color.

OK - just got the skinny on the fender flare issue. Black flares come on ALL base model HDs. On LS models, black flares come standard on Victory Red, Dark Blue Metallic, Black and the new dark red. All others come with color-keyed flares.

Man......what a load off.
