Need Help quick!

Guys I'm going to change my oil today. Went and got the fully synthetic Mobil 1 5w30 as advised. However, autozone doesn't list a Mobil 1 filter for it yet. I guess it's due to the year of the truck. So needless to say I didn't buy one. I only want to use the best. Anyone know the part # for the Mobil 1 filter for my 2005 Sierra 5.3, V8?? TIA!! I was curious if it was different from the 2004 as it has an aluminum block now.

 

I also tried for an AC Delco and they didn't list that either....d**n autozone!

Filter should be the same number as previous years. I personally use Wix filters as I have heard they are the best. You really cant go wrong with the OE filter though, I just prefer a better one. As to the mobil, I have used it once on my 02 but figured it wasnt worth the $10 cost since I change the oil based on the Oil Life Monitor which is calibrated for an OE filter.

I totally agree.... The OEM oil filter is more than adequate. Been using the factory's recommended filters for ages, as per the toy manual that is included with the truck. We have several old trucks with over 100,000 miles on them at the farm and not a single one has suffered. The bodies are another story.
