I drive an 02 Sierra 1500, 4x4. Std.Cab/Long Box, 4.3ltr. I dont know who makes the factory schocks but they are narrow bodied, blue and black colored. They are very smooth running schocks especially on rough roads. None the less they are worn at 48k and the dealer wants $100 and $125 each for them. I had installed Monroe Relfexes for a month and found myself back in physical therapy for an old neck injury. Tried Sensotracs and found them to be very smooth on road expansion cracks but on manhole covers they valve and lock up hard also. It may just be the rear schocks that are harsh. I have seen conflicting info on Bilstein and dont know what to think at this point. Bilstien claims that they only make a comfort schock for 2wd's. Sure could use some good ideas right about now.

Thanks

I put a set of Rancho RS9000x on my truck and love them. My truck rides so much better now than with the factory shocks. I also agree with Bruce, the Rancho RSX self-adjusting shocks are good too. Know of several people who have those shocks and like them. Also found when researching shocks that Edelbrocks self-adjusting line of shocks are valved a little softer than Ranchos, so if you are looking for a softer valving, then Edelbrock may be the way to go. Just my two cents.
