I'd like to know more about what this tool can and can't do.

 

Can you burn info with it ??

 

If you have a tune-file, will this load it into the vehicle ??

 

Can you change any parameters with it, like tire diameter, etc ??

 

Anything anyone could tell me would be appreciated.

Um, it is used to view the enignes stats, and you can manually open/close/shut off/rev up thinigs on the engine with it. You need one to time the vortecs (96-99) not sure on the new ones. You can reprogram a pcm, but only with stock data from a vin number, there isn't any way to edit or add programming.

The Tech2 can do just about anything for your truck. Tune it? Doubt that - but diagnose/program/etc, that's what it's there for.

It's a couple grand, like $3G, ebay's got them occassionally for $2G.
