Hey, just a question...Is that little symbol for the heated mirrors (the one on the mirror itself) supposed to light up when you have them on?

Mine do not light up and on my 03 Silverado the passenger side quit working and dealership replaced the mirror. They tested it and power was getting to the mirror so they just replaced the glass part and works fine now.

Cool...Thanks.

I was just wondering, because they haven't lit up since I bought it...But it looks like they're supposed to. I don't have a lot of use for them anyway.

FUNNY......My 04 has no symbol on the mirrors.

Over at http://www.plowsite.com there is

a pic posted of a cracked 04 mirror. It also has no symbol.

My Caddy has the heat symbol tho and it doesn't light up............geo

No the symbol does not light up

The replacement mirrors no longer have the lighted mirror symbol on them

Here is the replacement part for the right side (NBS 1500 series with-out turn signal indicator)

Right Hand mir-kit 88986363 cost $ 29.57 shipping & handling $ 5.29

bought from site sponsor GM Parts DIrect

Had to replace mine stopped working(defrost) and then loose nut behind the wheel cracked it.

The passenger mirror on my '04 Suburban also stopped heating, and of course I didn't know it until the dead of winter when I really needed it. Dealer replaced the mirror and all is well now

My new 2005, even though the owners manual states the heated mirrors will have a symbol, my new truck didnt. Hmmmmmmm

And they do heat BTW

Makes me wonder......

I haven't had any heated mirrors crack or stop working on any of the GMs that had them yet. But the mirrors on my '03 Trailblazer became loose so that they vibrated when going down the road. The dealership replaced the entire assembly of both sides to correct the problem. The originals had the heated mirror symbol on them but the replacements didn't (causing me to call the dealership to make SURE the new ones really WERE heated,).

Changed my passenger side in Oct. when the truck was only 4 months old. (HEATED W/TURN SIGNAL)

We have changed quite a few here at our dealership and they all seem to be the passenger side only

The manuals are neglected lots of times. If it isn't a big item GM doesn't even bother releasing an insert. My TB came with an insert page, but I don't even recall what that one was about- definitely not mirrors though.
