a deer hunter was hunting in alaska. as he walked along a grizzly bear

rushed him, the hunter turned and fired seven rounds from a high

powered rifle into the bear. he hit all seven, and the bear fell 1 foot in front

of him. the bear was still alive so he pumped seven more shots into his

head. when the fish and game people autopsied the bear it had 2

dead people in its stomach. it was the largest grizzly bear ever in the

world. they backtracked and found one 1/2 eaten hiker, and never found the

second person. the bear was 14 foot tall, the biggest grizzly in history.

THE GRIZZLY

The bodies in the stomach have never been confirmed and the half eaten hiker was added to the story at a later date. They did find a hiker that had been gnawed on by various animals but the remains were in such bad shape that they couldn't directly tie it to the bear in question.

Too Funny those pictures were taken in 2001 on a little island in the Aleutians off of Kodiak Island, AK.

The bear was taken by a Coast Guard seaman that was there to man the relay station. The Coasties actually have a drawing to see whom gets to man the station during bear season.

It was killed by permit while bear hunting.

Sorry but no bodies were in it's stomach and it took 2 rounds to kill it using a 300 min mag, it scored number 2 on boone and crokett list.

I was working for the Department of Fish and Game in Juneau when this guy sent in his paperwork, best thing is there are bigger bears on the little island

Just the facts ma'am......

Take a look at the vegitation around the hunter, and compare it to the vegitation around the body. I have never been to the Aleutians, but I don't think there are many palm trees there.

Thats funny cause the picture of the mutalated body is all I see in one picture and the pictures of the bear are dark and totally different vegitation...the bear pics vegitation is thick and very brushy......

Funny thing too a very well known fact is a bear will bury the carcass, even if it is still alive. they like there meat unfresh or something?

Here is a quote about predetory bears from 2003. The case was about a man found buried and half eaten in Hyder, AK on the border of Canada and AK.

"Predatory bear attacks are very rare, said Bruce Bartley, a spokesman for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game's wildlife conservation division. He said he thought the Hyder incident was the first bear attack of any kind in Alaska this year.

``There's generally about half a dozen cases a year where someone is injured by a bear,'' said Bartley. ``About four of those six cases tend to be hunters.''

Bartley could recall only three reported cases of bears attacking people and eating them in the past 20 years." Taken from the States fish and game site.......

In 99 a really good friend of the family Max Mielke got mauled on Admirlty Island while hunting, he was half ass buried alive and the bear walked away untill it heard him calling for help on the VHF radio, it came back to finish him off, luckily a WARD air cessena hearing the call came in and buzzed the bear and scared it off......

I will try and find the report on the bear pictured above...... :(
